I love cooking. A part of it has to do with my instinct of taking care of people all around me. It just comes naturally. I cook not only to feed empty stomachs (mine included) but to enjoy and live the entire experience. An entire industry runs on this feeling. They are working tirelessly to make things better for people who complement us. There are people who love to eat, who genuinely appreciate good food and those are the people who inspire people like me to cook and to improvise. Some people are born with this talent. They cook heavenly dishes. Others, like me, cook passionately. And through we can’t be compared to the other group of people, we are most certainly better than the particular class who cook without any motivation or love. This separates us lovers from them doers. We are inspired to bring to stove masterpieces, time after time. We feel that someone is waiting to appreciate us, to praise us, encourage us. And we strive to give them every reason to do so. My favourite part in the entire process is when I mix the spices. The melody of spices meeting the hot oil and spreading its fragrance is something that I have not yet been able to forget. I love to experiment with this melody, loosing myself in the pleasures of ears and nose. The aura that encapsulates me brings with itself a relief so divine that just for that moment the world ceases to exist. It’s just my ears, my nose and the melodious fragrances. I haven’t met one lady who does not appreciate a man who can cook. And I am yet to meet a man who does not feel satisfied and content after preparing a dish for his lady. The love that a man has for his kitchen is stronger, at times, than the love he has for his couch. It’s a bond forged for eternity. A request to all the foodies: never fail to appreciate or criticize. You might not be aware but these two hold tremendous power for the chef, more so if the chef is a man. It is the combination of your words and your smiles that is the true reward for his efforts.
