Does God exist? I believe it does. I may differ with a lot of people on the notion of religion. But I do believe in the existence of one Supreme Being. One Divine. Someone who is constantly watching over us.

I believe that being is a female. A Goddess.

We all have had our brushes with the Divine. Even those who do not believe would have some experience with it. It comes in the form of help, an idea, a thought. In this way we all are connected. There are tons of literature available for the same. Some more on the notion of accepting, believing and the miracles it brings.

But what happens when your Goddess leaves you?

Across cultures we are led to believe that the good is rewarded and the bad is punished. That in the end our actions are weighed and the final judgement passed accordingly.

But if a Supreme Being existed will it really punish its children? Forgiveness comes from a place of power, authority, total control. A being who has created the sun, the moon, the stars, the entire universe won’t really stoop down to the level of humans to punish each individual for its act.

No. That couldn’t be. This makes me believe that this Supreme Being is like a mother.

We fear this Goddess. We love her. We respect her. We make mistakes. A lot of these mistakes are forgiven. That is how we learn and grow as humans. That is how we develop the notion of right and wrong.

But at what point do we draw the line? Rather, at what point does She draw the line?

I guess we will never know. Sure, there would be indications along the way. There would be lots and lots of signs. We ignore these signs and realise one day that our luck has dried out. The things, the people we took for granted are no longer there. All we have is a sense of gloom, despair and loneliness.

No, our Goddess doesn’t punish us. She leaves us.

In the end, our existence becomes our own punishment.
